Interested in Joining?

As stated on the home page, we are accepting applications for new members.  We will entertain consideration to any person living within the Center Fire District and in any contiguous fire district (Sheffield-Calahaln, Cooleemee, Mocksville, William R. Davie, or County Line).  New firefighters will typically serve a six-month probationary period and at the successful conclusion of that term, the company will vote on admission to the department.

To Join, just fill out the Application (available here as an Adobe Acrobat file), and bring it by the department on any Thursday night from 7:00-10:00 PM.   All applicants will be subject to a criminal background check (you can speed this process up by visiting the Clerk of Court's office and requesting that they run a background check for you to include criminal and traffic charges - bring picture ID) and following that, gear will be issued based on availability.  All members of the department generally attend at least 48 hours of training per year.  The company meets on Thursday nights each week at 7:00 PM at the station for training or to take care of various tasks around the department.

Give us a call.  It is probably easier to catch someone at the station on meeting night - feel free to try (336) 492-7649 or swing by if you see any of us around for questions or help with an application!

For a visit, we're on US Highway 64 West near the intersection of Parker Road.  That's about one mile west on Highway 64 from I-40 at the 168 exit.
